A beautiful love story joining the UK and Germany!!!
I was so pleased when my colleagues Iain and Wiebke got engaged and even happier when they asked me to spend the day with them photographing their vows. This is part one of their wedding; a lovely intimate ceremony in Oxford with their immediate family and friends. They get to do it all over again in August with a big party and blessing near Wiebke’s hometown in Germany.
The day started at Iain and Wiebke’s new home in Oxford. Iain met me with a huge smile on his face and his Mum and two daughters by his side, making sure he had the rings. As Iain hid in the kitchen Wiebke and her bridesmaid arrived from the hairdressers and dashed upstairs to get ready. 10 minutes later Iain, and the wedding party headed to Oxford Registry Office, leaving Wiebke and her father to follow in a chauffeur driven car.
Once all the formalities were complete, Iain waited patiently for his bride to arrive on her father’s arm. The ceremony was beautiful. Iain’s Mum and Wiebke’s Mum both did lovely readings and the vows were so personal I think everyone found them very emotional…including me!
Oxford gave them beautiful sunshine all day which allowed us to walk through the town center for group photos and a fantastic lunch at Jamie’s’ Italian. After too much food and lots of wine the Bride and Groom walked the wedding party to Christ Church College to enjoy the sunshine, which gave me the opportunity to take more photos in a stunning location. The whole day was filled with laughter, it was just perfect and amazing to see Iain and Wiebke so happy!
Thank you for letting me share your day with you both, congratulations again and I wish you all the love and happiness for your future together.
